Hi all.

Not sure if this is the correct place to post but I've got a question about video capture.

I'd like to record some in-game footage and do a voice over to it so I can put it on my blog. What are the best tools for doing this? I've heard of Fraps but never ever used it.

Any tips?

Thanks!

Yea, Fraps works very nice.

There's some pointers on movies on Tankspot as well.

For doing voice overs you can use a free sound recording multi-tracking software such as Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) or Garageband (if you are a mac user) to save the audio file as MP3. Multi-tracking allows you to record a voice in one track while adding sounds, music, or additional voices in another and save it all out as one file.

You would use something like Windows Movie Maker (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/down ... aker2.mspx) or iMovie (if you are a Mac User) to put the Fraps (mentioned in the post above) AVI video you captured into the software, then you can add your MP3 audio file.

If you're using the Mac, there's the built in video recorder in WoW. I had some crashing issues with it back in the Spring, but I do believe it got patched up (haven't tried it in a while) but it does produce very nice results.

If your in Windows, yea, I'll throw my hat in with endorsing Fraps.

And if you're dual booting on a Mac... I wouldn't recommend trying to record Fraps in Windows then take to the Mac side to work with it. It's not worth the frustration of all the conversions.
