Hey guys,

I've looked through the previous topics and I'm now fairly certain this has not been done before, so here goes:

I'm working on an article around How to Choose the Right Class for You. I'm writing about my personal dilemma of loving certain classes more then others, but then also loving certain content more then other. Since I play with 3 other people I know IRL, the problem of all of us joining a guild together (and then being able to raid together, raiding is the part of WoW I love the most) arises.

If I were to try and give other people advice on choosing their class, I'd like to not only encourage them to choose the class they like the best, but to also look at it from a functionality point of view, so you don't get stuck only playing solo for the rest of your WoW-life, so you don't end up missing out and being unhappy. (I've got plenty of friends who are in this situation at the moment).

For example: I play with friends. My friends have a hard time deciding what they want to play. So I went for a hybrid-class (Druid in my case) to ensure that I will be able to raid/play in groups no matter what my friends decide to play (or if my friends stop playing and leave me to hang dry).


For the shared topic: I was thinking maybe everyone could write a little about why you chose the class and why other players should/would choose your class (or even not choose it) and what aspects need to be taken into consideration.


Does this sound interesting to anyone? Also feel free to work on the topic if you have any ideas on how to make it evolve further.

I wrote a post about the pros and cons of being a mage ages ago (in the beginning of march when I was a fresh blogger). I think it's still valid though and I guess it's pretty much the perspective you asked though, althogh it's a bit differently formulated.

I think this is a good idea! I don't know about the rest of you, but I didn't pick the druid class with much thought at all.

Here was my thought process: I like kitties! Meow meow! Ok, I'm a druid. I did abandon her for a paladin during Vanilla wow, but now I actually play the first character I ever created. However, I never see cat form exc just to run around in during raid downtime.

I... rolled a dice.

What kind of dice would that be matt? coz there is no such thing as a d9, so did you roll a d10 and reroll on a 10 or did you roll a normal d6 and just exclude 3 classes to start with?

(D&D has scarred me for life, sorry for this bad bad joke btw...)

Maybe it was a coin for faction and a d8 for class.

I misclicked on mage... was trying to click druid and didn't bother changing back. Imagine if I had clicked druid... "gladiator."
