My main reason for using Sitemeter as my primary traffic tracker was that it was so simple. It looks like they've dolled it up far too much now, in my opinion. Almost like a clunkier version of Google Analytics.

Any other thoughts on it?

For those that haven't seen it, here's my traffic rankings: http://www.sitemeter.com/viewstats.php?site=s49asalisbury

I have not used sitemeter and believe that analytics is far superior. However I may implement sitemeter just to display visitor count on my site.

Well, I just like that sitemeter makes everything easy to see.

Though, it looks like they've swapped back to make it all much easier to read. I hope they leave it like this!

Statcounter still provides very easy-to-read statistics. I use that for my day-to-day visitor count and checking incoming traffic but also have Google Analytics when I want more in-depth information.

I've only ever used Google Analytics, but it's likely that Site Meter is trying to give more options/info to try and compete with GA. Maybe they'll work in a "just the basics" option later.

Analytics is great, lots of good info there.

If you're on a cpanel host then you probably have AwStats, which has lots of good info.

http://MyBlogLog.com and http://www.statcounter.com/ also provide good info and both are free (with paid options if you get lots of traffic.) Either of these will work just fine with blogger and the other free platforms.

Keep in mind that some of the changes with Sitemeter include their addition of a tracking cookie that ends up on your visitors websites and can (in some cases) slow down your sites load time - especially for people running No Script.

Unfortunately, I had to axe Sitemeter in favor of Google Analytics and Wordpress Stats because it was causing both of the above issues.
