Is it possible to display the blogroll on an individual page, similar to the "about" and "contact" paging? Essentially, displaying the built-in blogroll as a separate page rather than a widget

Or do you have to write up the page with hyperlinks and such?

Also, is there a specific forum where we nubs should submit questions like this?
Or will threads like these simply be purged every week? :P

No, we don't plan on purging threads.

I'm not sure exactly, but I know that http://www.resto4life.com has a separate page for a blogroll.

WordPress Instructions

First, you will need an addon that allows you to run PHP scripts from within a WordPress page. I use the aptly named runPHP. Once you have that installed, create a new page and name it "Blogroll" or "Links" or something similar. In the body of the page, insert code like this:

Code:
<?php wp_list_bookmarks('category=1,2,3&between=<br />&show_images=0&orderby=name&show_rating=0&show_updated=1&show_description=1&category_before=&category_after='); ?>

The category variable includes a list of comma-delineated categories that you want to output from your blogroll. You can see full documentation for using this script here.

Your database-driven, WordPress blogroll is managed through Dashboard > Blogroll > Add Link.

There is also a plugin I came across that can help with placing your blogroll on a separate page.

Srinig G is the author:
http://srinig.com/wordpress/2007/09/wp- ... inks-page/

What it does: Plugin to display ‘Blogroll’ links in a page.

How: Activate Plugin after copying to your wp-content/plugins folder. Create a new page with appropriate title like ‘Links’ and enter the text {{links-page}} as the content of the page.

Comments: It works for me quite well (using WP 2.3.2) for my blog since I really didn't want a long roll of links on my sidebars. This also helps if you are php code-challenged. It displays the Category, Link and Description from what I entered in the Blogroll via the Dashboard.

Keep an eye if he updates this, as with any plugin - better yet maybe a coder will run with it and improve.

Hopefully it will work for you or for someone out there. Good luck.

Sullivan, that's a pretty kickass plugin. I'm going to go give it a shot myself.

Quite welcome Matticus!

Found another as well. The first one worked better for my site - but this may work for others.

Blogroll Page Plugin: http://www.websitehostingiq.net/blogroll-page-plugin/

Note: This one uses the code
Code:
<!--blogroll-page-->
to work.

Never hurts to have options. :)

Turns out, all I had to do was "write" a new page.

Title it "Blogroll", select its template as "links", and it automatically displays the blogroll on a separate page.

That is EXACTLY the same way I did mine

I can't find the option to select a template for my page. Is the option determined by the theme?

Thanks!

Yes. it is determined by which theme you select (on Wordpress.com).

See this post: http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.ph ... replies=10

The fourth comment down lists all the themes with the "Links" template.

I believe there are other work-arounds as well, but I do not know off the top of my head.
