I've finally done it. With the help of two lovely friends I finally made the first episode of my podcast called: Girls gone WoW.

We're still a work in progress and there are some things we need to improve, but for a first show it's not bad at all ow btw I'm the one who doesn't sound English
We sound a bit 'forced' in the first show and made some notes how to improve, but more feedback is always good.
Also, how does everyone find their intro music or a nice logo? I also need to tackle the recording isue better. I have downloaded virtual audio cables to see if I can record the sound now through audacity on TS3 or Skype and it won't just record only my voice, but it's not as easy as it seems and by tomorrow I'll probably start tearing my hair out ^^

Welcome to podcasting! I haven't had a chance to download your show and give it a listen, but I will soon. For the music, I would say take a look at http://podsafeaudio.com . It's not the best site layout but that's where I found TNB's intro music.

Logo is a completely different issue. I tend to build my logos myself but you can find plenty of artists out there willing to take a commission. Of course, that means you have to pay for it. You could always put something simple together for now and then see if any of your fans want to help out and put something together for you.

As for the Virtual Audio Cables, yes, it does take some work to figure out the right setup. I use a setup with quite a few of them but generally all you need is 2 virtual cables and 3 repeaters. The repeaters are the key.

You set up Skype to have the input from Your headset and output to Line 1. If you don't have a headset replace input: headset with input: microphone and output: headset with output: speakers.

Repeaters:
1) Input: Headset , Output: Line2
2) Input: Line1, Output: Line2
3) Input: Line1, Output: Headset

To record, all you have to record is Line2.. That will have the combined audio of you and your cohosts, etc. (everyone on skype).

if you are doing live shows. you would broadcast Line2 out to Ustream or JustinTV, etc.

Good luck! podcasting is lots of fun but it can be a lot of work too.

I'm still recording through teamspeak3 but I will definatly give it a go the next time. I'm still a bit wandering at times and I want to make it a bit more unique than other podcasts. I guess it's a start by having more girl presenters than guys and we decided to invite girls over now for our shows and interview them and get their perspective of the game.

Ow just a question: which audiorepeater do I use? KS or MME? Not sure what the difference is and I take it I can just let Audacity record in the background?

Umm... I would say whichever one works but try the KS first. You'll know it is working if you can hear them and they can hear you on Skype

And yes, you can use anything that can record a specific audio input. Just make sure you set the recorder to record the Line 2 VAC.
