We've been having a fair old run with The Obscurecast, but I'd really like to improve things. It's partly because we're considering moving to a live show format, which is then recorded and uploaded for iTunes etc.Things are starting to get really complicated though, and I have a feeling that I'm making things too complicated for my own good.

To start off with, I'm using a desktop computer to have a Skype call with my cohost. The desktop's running Windows 7.

I use a laptop with a separate Skype username to record the call, by hooking up the headphones socket to the line in socket and muting the mic on the live call. The laptop also provides the stream to Ustream etc.

Ideally what I'd like to do is be able to do the whole thing on a single computer - hold the call, record everything and livestream it. But I'm not sure what software or hardware I'd need in order to be able to pull this off.

I was really asking for help/advice on selecting software that would be able to help with this, making it all easier and simpler to setup/record/stream. So please, if you have any suggestions or recommendations please let me know.

Also, if you know of any soundboard software, that would also be cool :)

Thanks!

Virtual Audio Cables (just do a google lookup) and their redirectors are what I use to broadcast and record everything on the same box.

Also, if you are looking for a soundboard program, might I suggest my own.. http://aatwow.com/fmb/
It is free to use although I do request that you pimp tnb and polygamerous in your show if you can. :)

Let me know if you have any questions about the software
