Hey,

Is there a tool that I can use to see who is linking me? I am quite curious and would also like to give their blog a chance and add it to my roll if they are linking me (or at least say thank-you to them)

You can use the free Technorati service to see who is linking to you with the following link:

http://www.technorati.com/search/oldnew ... gspot.com/

It appears that you're so new that no one has found you, yet, but that will likely improve over time. =)

Thank you! I figured there would be noone linking me yet, I was just curious if I could find out for the future for if someone is. Another quick question, shouldn't the link I put up here in the introductions?

Also as an offtop thing to you Phaelia, why must my work block (Websense) block you?! I always forget to check your blog out at home since I have heard so many good things, but I usually just play at home and forget about blogging. You should see if you can get off of it

I don't think that Technorati includes links from web forums in its authority calculations (though Google's LinkAlert service seems to). It is somehow able to determine whether a linking site is another blog and credits you accordingly.

I wish that I could get off those blacklists, but it's something that's completely outside of my control. I might not have that problem were I hosted through Wordpress.org, but as a self-hosted blog blacklisting databases seem to detect me pretty quickly as something not intended for work. You should still be able to read my blog through an RSS reader though you probably won't be able to see the images. You might also look into Unblockall.net, a service that ostensibly allows you to view whatever you want, despite the best efforts of your corporate firewall (http://www.killerstartups.com/Social-Ne ... ed-website). As with anything of this nature, though, use at your own risk. I'd hate to hear of anyone running into job-related trouble because they wanted to see the pictures on my site.

I will have to try that unblockall.net, should be a good try if it actually works. And you are just getting added to my "read when I get home" as BBB is not blacklisted as well by websense. Which is a major bummer

Just an FYI to anyone that wants to try unblockall.net, Websense blocks it as "Proxy Avoidance"

another way you can check on who's linking to you is to go to Google or Yahoo (Yahoo provides more results) and type in your website preceded by link:

Example:
link:http://www.isheepthings.com

Now this will only pull in links that the search engine has verified and are within the search engine index.

you can also do a site: to see what pages the search engine has indexed as of last crawl date.

site:http://www.isheepthings.com

I had something up, but it loaded sloowwww, it was annoying.

You can always use histats or statcounter of a sort.

Hmm.... I tried that... it came back with nothing for my site. I know I am at least linked by 2 people, who I checked in the site:[their site here] and it is indexed... Oh wells...

You could try setting up a google alert.
