This is NOT one of those "3 word story" threads. God, I hate those :P

So, I play on an RP server, which naturally means that there is very little RP going about. I want to change that, but I don't feel like reinacting the Siege of Ulduar in Orgrimmar. Instead, I figured it might be fun to gather some people, have them sit down in the orphanage in Orgrimmar, and give them an "impromptu" story. Well, not completely impromptu, because that might cause some problems, but generally where we have a rough story and then type it out for people to see.

This would obviously be enhanced by cake on the floor, parasols, campfires and whatever people bring. The whole idea is to make a cozy setting where you can tell short stories for those who want to join - if any actually do. Afterwards, I would post the full story on my blog or whatnot.

How do you think this would go down? Can we come up with a few good, rough ideas for stories that doesn't take *that* long to complete? We can't expect people to sit around for two hours, after all.

why not allowing everybody to continue a story after each person who tells something with a maximum of 2 sentence-story? it's like making story after the other?

I think thats a bit tricky, because you still need to keep the story going to keep people's attention. But maybe its something that people can pick up on eventually.

I did actually try to pull this off, even if it was just a short story with no real context. A few guildies and myself were sitting around a campfire in the AH in Orgrimmar, and I decided to just go for it :P I asked for suggestions when I ran out of things to write :P

Silver Hand had a troll storyteller who did something like this for several years and, more recently, weekly sermons in Cathedral Square in Stormwind.

It's definitely doable. Brave the official forums and advertise the event both on your server board and the general RP forum, and you'll pick up folks. I'd also go ahead and download flagRSP or the like, find all the names it records of people on the Horde side and maybe send them an in-game invite to a future event using the calendar system.
