I currently have a wordpress.com blog, and I can't figure out how to put an RSS button up on there. I have absolutely no idea about how to use CSS yet (I am reading all the guides I can get my hands on, but frankly I am hopeless with anything computer related, and it's taking me some time to get a handle on it). Any ideas?

Until you pay for custom RSS, the only way to have a link to your RSS feed on your sidebar is by using the Meta widget.

I have paid for the custom CSS, I just have no idea how to use it :). Do I need to pay for something else as well that I haven't seen perhaps?

The straightforward way is to go into your Dashboard, choose Design, then select Widgets. You will see a list of design elements that you can add, and one is called RSS. Choose to Add that. You'll have to enter the address of your RSS feed.

I hope that's what you are looking for!

The RSS widget displays a full feed, it doesn't actually provide you with a feed button to subscribe to your site's feed directly, unless you put your own feed in it.

But my previous answer was pretty incomplete as well.

What you can do if you have the CSS upgrade:

- Add a text widget to your sidebar
- Create your feed subscription links in there
- Preview the result
- Look at the source code to identify the proper style structure
- Style the link in the CSS according to your needs.

You can probably just upload whatever nice RSS logo you want to your Media Library and then link to that to store the logo locally.

Actually you dont even have to pay for the custom CSS. I didn't and mine works fine =) All you have to do is sign up with feedburner

http://www.feedburner.com/fb/a/home

Once you're signed up with feedburner the short way is to follow the directions to get the HTML, then paste it into the "text" widget assign a name and click the "change" button, don't forget to save before you go back to your page. The link below has more complete instructions if you're at all confused.

Hope this helps!
