Is there a way to put widgets in specific posts and not just on the sidebar?

Or maybe put the PHP code directly into the post? I am not very fluent at all in programming but I have heard that the PHP and HTML works differently somehow and wondered if there is a way to convert between them?

You can't exactly put a widget in a post, nor can you put php into it.

That is, outside of using some sort plugin.

What exactly are you looking to do?

I have several different WoW-chars I play on and I was thinking of making some sort of structured approach to the different classes, like this:

Home: All posts, archive and recent posts and general stuff like that

About: A page with several subpages
- rogue
- druid
- priest
- etc

and for each subpage I was thinking of having a tag cloud of posts with tags relevant to the class and the armory widgets (your own excellent achievement widget included!) for each char.

It would be way to cluttery to have all this on the sideboard I think.

Thats an excellent idea! I currently have a setup on my main page that, when mousing over my characters name/class/level, changes the picture to them.... If people were to click on them, it would be like clicking on that class in my category cloud.... but it would also change the sidebar to a class spicific set of widgets.

Is it possible to feed a name/server to a widget in a dynamic way? In other words, the sidebar would behave like this....

PICTURE (dynamic)

Char 1
Char 2
Char 3
{Char 4} (selected)

Armory/Achivements widget (set to Char 4)


In addition, if character 4 were, say, a hunter, it would select the hunter category.

Im sure its possible, but as I am asking for someone else (someone who CAN) to think of how to do it/do it.... Is it probable?

Found a solution to my problem by browsing this forum a little more, Phaelia had posted a guide that included an addon that allowed php in posts!

Not sure if that helps you InspiredOgre but I got enough to start fiddling around with my posts. They are not finished yet so I won't link it, but I'll post here when they are.
